Privacy Policy
The Minnesota Lobby Guide (mnlobbyguide.com) is operated by Fifty Domes LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company (“Fifty Domes,” “we,” “us”). Fifty Domes publishes independent directories built from public records, including its state lobby guides and Capitol guides. These policies apply to all of them. Contact: clerk@fiftydomes.com.
Information from public records
Our guides republish information from public filings and official public sources, such as lobbyist registrations, the clients they represent, and legislative directories. We show it because it is public record. In the Minnesota guide we publish names, firms and organizations, clients, and city and state only. We never publish street addresses, phone numbers or personal email addresses. If you think something is wrong, email us and we will check it against the source.
Business email on a lobbyist's filing. A lobbyist's public registration with the state (in Minnesota, the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board) includes a business email address. We do not show that address on our sites. We use it to verify that a person claiming a profile is the registered lobbyist and to send that lobbyist occasional emails about their own profile. We may also use it to email them about our listings and services, as described below. A lobbyist who claims a profile chooses separately whether to show a public contact email.
Information you give us
- Claiming a profile or joining the early-access list: your name and email address, plus anything you choose to tell us.
- Email to us: your name, email and message.
- Paid plans: your name, email, billing address, and tax ID if you choose to enter one. We also receive the plan, its status and renewal date, and the last four digits and brand of your card or the name of your bank.
Payments: Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., which hosts our checkout pages, receipts, invoices and billing portal. Stripe collects and stores your card or bank account details. We never see or store full card or bank account numbers. If you pay by bank account, Stripe may use its Financial Connections service to verify the account, or confirm it with two small test deposits. Stripe also uses your billing address to work out sales tax. Stripe handles this information under its own Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy) and may use it to prevent fraud.
How we use information
- To run the directories, verify profile claims and show Featured listings
- To send a registered lobbyist occasional emails about their own profile (for example, that it exists and can be claimed for free, or optional paid listings) at the business email on their public filing
- To provide paid plans: to bill you, send receipts and renewal reminders, and handle cancellations and refunds
- To collect and report sales tax, and to keep the business and tax records the law requires
- To answer your messages and keep the sites secure (for example, automated spam checks)
We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising cookies. We may send a registered lobbyist occasional emails about their own profile at the business email address on their public filing with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. Every one of these emails includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply STOP. When you unsubscribe, we add your address to a suppression list and stop sending these emails to it, right away for the link and within 10 business days at most. We may also email registered lobbyists and lobbying firms about their listings and our services, using contact information from public lobbyist registration records filed with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribes right away.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that run the sites for us: Stripe (payments and tax calculation), Cloudflare (hosting, security and email delivery), our business email provider, and our accountants and tax authorities where the law requires. We also share it if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep profile information while the profile is active. We keep billing and tax records for 7 years, as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your claim details or your early-access signup at any time. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on our suppression list so that we keep honoring your choice. Public-record information stays as long as it is part of the public record we publish.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your information, email clerk@fiftydomes.com. You can update your payment details or cancel any time in the Stripe billing portal. To stop emails about your profile, use the unsubscribe link in any of them, reply STOP, or email us.
